Catamarán Cartagena

It's a company based in Manga with more than eight years on the water and its own fleet: Powercat catamarans of 43, 47 and 51 feet, the Sirenas catamaran, a 50-foot Beneteau sailboat, and Sea Ray 46, Azimut 62 and Sunseeker 72 yachts. The boat carries only your group.

The island trip leaves between 8 and 9 a.m. and is back before 5 p.m.: stops to swim and snorkel in the Rosario Islands, lunch on an island or at Cholón, and an afternoon on the beach. You plan the route with them before leaving, and the captain adjusts it if the sea calls for it.

Every rental includes captain, deckhand, fuel, ice and water. Catering with a chef on board, hotel transfers and water gear are booked separately. The Sunseeker 72 has three cabins, air conditioning and a galley.

What to see

• The reefs and clear water of the Rosario Islands.
• The sunken plane where they stop to swim.
• Cholón and the beaches of Barú.
• The bay and the Bocagrande skyline as the sun goes down.

Getting there

• The boarding point is confirmed when you book. The office is at Calle 24 #19-50, in Manga.
• They offer a ground transfer from your hotel to the boat if you ask in advance.

Tips

• Bookings need a 50% deposit; the balance is paid before boarding.
• If you get seasick, they suggest taking medication an hour before leaving.
• If bad weather cancels the trip before departure, they reschedule or refund.
