It overlaps with the New Year high season and with the Cartagena Festival de Música (January 9 to 17). Early January is one of the most expensive times of the year for hotels: book now if you plan to come.

The event is at Centro de Convenciones Cartagena de Indias. It's Cartagena's convention center, on the edge of Getsemaní facing the bay, steps from the walled city. It opened in 1982 and has been run by Grupo Heroica since 2010.
