The Fuerte de San Sebastián del Pastelillo was built between 1741 and 1744 on the orders of Viceroy Sebastián de Eslava, where El Boquerón, Cartagena's first fort, had stood. It defended the entrance to the Bahía de las Ánimas and the route into the city through Manga.
It's called Pastelillo (little pie) because of its shape. Architect Juan Manuel Zapatero restored it in 1972, and today it's the Club de Pesca's restaurant, with outdoor tables by the water.
The food is surf and turf, with fish from small-scale fishermen. They also have a boat, the Aquabus, for private sunset rides around the bay.
