Territorio Aguacate brings together Hass avocado growers, exporters, buyers and researchers. There's an exhibition floor, an academic summit, business matchmaking (AvoMatch) and technical tours, according to the event website. Plaza Mayor has it on its calendar in the Gran Salón, the Caja de Madera and several rooms.

It's more of a work trip than a getaway: if you're coming to do business, arrive on November 3 and stay near La Alpujarra or in Laureles, a few minutes from Plaza Mayor. It's a Wednesday and Thursday, so business hotels fill up with people from the industry; booking a month ahead doesn't hurt.
