Las Bóvedas were built between 1792 and 1798 at the northern end of the wall, next to the Baluarte de Santa Catalina. They were used to store ammunition and later as jail cells.

There are 23 vaults in a row with a yellow arcade in front. Today they're craft shops and galleries.

They sell Wayuu bags (mochilas), sombreros vueltiaos made of caña flecha (Colombia's traditional woven hat), hammocks, handmade jewelry, magnets and decor pieces, with prices for every budget.
