Alquímico opened in early 2016. It's in a Republican-era mansion designed in the early 20th century by French architect Gastón Lelarge, who also designed the Club Cartagena.

Each floor has its own menu: the first is community-focused, the second does classics, and the third is a rooftop terrace with cocktails made from produce grown on their farm in the Coffee Region (Eje Cafetero). There are also alcohol-free options and food.

They work with communities such as a farmers' association in the Montes de María and a music collective from the Nelson Mandela neighborhood. The team is more than a hundred people.
