Parque Lleras is a small park, with trees and steps, in the middle of El Poblado. Around it there are restaurants serving local and international food, bars and nightclubs, and it's where the idea of a zona rosa (nightlife district) in Medellín came from.
During the day it's calm: people having lunch, cafés and shops on the nearby streets. From the afternoon on it fills up, and at night it's the busiest spot in El Poblado's nightlife.
In 2023 the city set up checkpoints at the entrances for security reasons and has since adjusted hours and measures in the area. Before you go, it's worth checking recent news.
What to see
- The restaurants and bars around the park.
- The nearby streets with shops and cafés.
- Provenza, a few blocks away, with more restaurants.
Getting there
- Metro: Poblado station (Line A), then about a 20-minute walk uphill; there are also buses in front of the station.
- Bus: routes along Calle 10; get off at Carrera 40 and walk one block.
- Taxi: the most practical option for a night out, because public transportation stops between 10 and 11 p.m.
Tips
- Plan your way back before you go out: after 10 or 11 p.m. there's no metro.
- Order your taxi through an app or from the venue; when it rains it's hard to get one on the street.
- Check the city's current security measures for the area.
