Colombian Cacao Experience is a workshop held in a house in Laureles, at Carrera 80B #35A-28. It starts with hot chocolate and cheese and a short talk on the history of cacao in Colombia.
Then comes the hands-on part: you roast the cacao in a pan over the fire, peel it by hand and grind it in a hand mill, the way it was done in Colombian homes. With that paste, each person tempers the chocolate on a marble table, makes a bar with whatever ingredients they want and takes it home.
In the evening, at 6:00 and 8:30, there's another two-hour experience where you taste ten Colombian rums with house chocolates. The daytime workshop works for couples, families with kids or solo travelers.
