It's one of the few salsa bars left downtown. You go down a staircase into a basement with murals of soneros (salsa singers) on the walls, a small dance floor and tables around it. The music runs from Fania classics to new salsa, and some nights a live percussionist plays along with the DJ.

It's open Thursday to Saturday from 8:00 p.m. until around 3:00 a.m. The cover changes with the night and is paid in cash or by bank transfer; they don't take cards, according to visitor reviews. It's hot inside because there's little ventilation.

The historic center was damaged in the August 10, 2026 earthquake (the San Pedro, La Merced and La Ermita churches), and some intersections were closed for inspection. We found no report about the bar; before you go, check on Instagram that it's open.
