Hacienda is a family-run Antioquian restaurant that opened in downtown Medellín in June 1991, and the Junín location is the original. Today the brand is called Hacienda Origen and has other locations in Ciudad del Río, La Strada and Manila.
It's on a second floor above the Junín pedestrian street, with a balcony where you can eat and watch people go by. The menu is traditional dishes: bandeja paisa, beans, sancocho, mondongo (tripe soup), chicharrón, arepa de chócolo and cazuelas.
The full bandeja is big and many people can share it between two; there's also a mini bandeja. It's a good place for lunch after walking around downtown, since Plaza Botero and Parque Berrío are a few blocks away.
