Al Alma is a Medellín café chain that's been around for about 12 years. The Astorga location, on Calle 8, is the one travel guides mention most: an inner patio with a colorful tiled floor, a glass roof, plants everywhere and a bar at the back with pink walls.
It's a breakfast and brunch place. The menu has French toast, eggs, avocado toast, croissant with jamón serrano, sandwiches, salads, bowls, burgers and lomo saltado. There's a pastry case, and you can order the pasta gluten-free for a little extra.
For coffee they do espresso, lattes with latte art and siphon coffee, a glass brewing method worth watching. There's wifi, and plenty of people stay and work in the patio.
If another one is closer to you, there are more locations in Medellín: Provenza (Calle 8 #35-37), Laureles (Avenida 74B #39B-143), the El Tesoro and Viva Envigado malls, and Carrera 25 #7-224 in El Poblado.
