Fidel Leottau has been playing salsa at this spot in the Portal de los Dulces for decades. The walls are lined with framed photos of him with musicians who have come through, which is why some call it a salsa museum.
The bar takes up several spaces under the arches, but the fun is outside: plastic tables on the Plaza de los Coches, cold beer and the Torre del Reloj right in front. Locals and tourists come in equal measure.
It's not a nightclub and there's no show; it's for having a drink while listening to good salsa and, if the mood strikes, dancing. It usually peaks on Fridays and Saturdays around 11:00 p.m.
