Cali hosts the 14th Premios Macondo, the awards of the Academia Colombiana de Cine. The city government set the ceremony for October 25. El País reports that the gala moved to the Auditorio Alfonso Borrero Cabal at the Javeriana because the Teatro Municipal Enrique Buenaventura was damaged in the August 10 earthquake, and that it will be hosted by Juana Acosta and Manolo Cardona.
The gala is by invitation, but according to El País there will be free screenings of nominated films, talks and workshops from October 21 to 24, mainly at the Javeriana. The university is in Pance, in the south: for those days it's best to stay in the south of the city.
