El Giro de Rigo brings its La Sucursal edition to Cali on Sunday, November 1. According to the official rules there are two point-to-point challenges: the 180 km Reto Salsa with two mountain climbs and the 65 km Reto Caña. The start is at 6:00 a.m., and riders must be adults. In September the city government confirmed the ride is going ahead after the earthquake, and the organizers took aid to the affected towns.
The city government expects about 40,000 visitors and a route through towns such as Dagua, La Cumbre, Yotoco, Vijes and Yumbo. Spots sold out fast; if you're coming to ride or to cheer, book your hotel now and plan to arrive Friday to pick up your kit.
