Café Zorba

Café Zorba is on Calle 8, in El Poblado, on a second floor you reach by a staircase from the street. It's a meat-free pizzeria: the whole menu is vegetarian and several options are vegan.

The pizzas are thin-crust, one size only, and come out of two wood-fired ovens you can see from the tables. There are red ones, with tomato, like the cheeseless marinara or the spinach with pistachios, and white ones, without tomato, like the kale, the onion or the chimichurri with mushrooms.

For small plates there's hummus with laffa bread, papas bravas with Indian spices and red lentils, and two salads. The coffee comes from a farm in Ebéjico and they make it as espresso, French press and Vietnamese coffee.

It only opens at night and fills up, especially on weekends. It's about a 15-minute uphill walk from Poblado metro station, and a few blocks from Parque El Poblado.

• Metro: Poblado station (Line A), then about a 15-minute walk uphill along Calle 8.
• Taxi: ask for Calle 8 with Carrera 42, in El Poblado.

Tips

• Get there early, around 5:00 p.m., or book on their website; at night there's often a line.
• Order one red pizza and one white to compare.
• If you don't eat dairy, the marinara has no cheese and the ones marked vegan use macadamia cream.
