Aviario Nacional de Colombia
It's an aviary on the island of Barú, at kilometer 14.5 of the road to Playa Blanca. You walk among large enclosures and lagoons with flamingos, toucans, macaws and rescued birds.

The Aviario Nacional opened in 2016 and turned ten in 2026. It has more than 2,000 birds along trails with large enclosures, mangroves and lagoons. Many arrived after being rescued from wildlife trafficking.
The most photographed spot is the flamingo lagoon. There are also toucans, macaws, birds of prey and birds from several regions of the country.
It's on the road to Playa Blanca, so a lot of people combine it with the beach on the same day. Since September 1, 2026, admission for foreigners costs COP 90,000 for adults and COP 65,000 for children or students.

Getting there
- Car or taxi: about 50 minutes from Cartagena on the road to Barú, crossing the Pasacaballos bridge.

- Combine it with Playa Blanca, a few minutes away.
